This black silk dress has a 25" waist and a 30" bust. The bodice is shaped with four boned darts.
As you can see, the bottom portion of the skirt has been removed. Oddly, there is a pressed line and evidence of stitching along this break. Perhaps the skirt had been pieced together?

The three-piece back is top-stitched.

The skirt is pleated with double-box pleats. There is a very scanty underturn at the the top of the dress and calico remnants are at the turn-down.

The bodice is piped with self-fabric at the armsyces, waist, neck, and sleeve seams.

The bodice is lined with a plain weave cotton and the sleeves are lined with polished cotton.

There are two loops of cotton at the inside waist of the dress, for hanging up the dress.

The skirt pocket is made of black polished cotton and is 6 1/2" x 12".
